Message from the Vice-Chancellor

It is a matter of great pleasure for me to convey my heartfelt greetings to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak. Situated amidst the tranquil and culturally vibrant surroundings of Amarkantak, the university represents a center of learning, inclusivity, and empowerment, with a special commitment to the upliftment of tribal communities across India. Since its establishment, the institution has been driven by a clear and meaningful vision to provide higher education that is accessible, relevant, and deeply connected to the values, traditions, and aspirations of adjoining societies, while also maintaining alignment with global benchmarks of academic excellence. Indira Gandhi National Tribal University was established with a unique mandate to serve as a center of academic excellence dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of tribal heritage, culture, language, and knowledge systems. At the same time, it seeks to provide modern, skill-oriented, and research-driven education that equips students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
