About Library :
The University Library, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University is a Centre of information for the academic community of the University and is expected to be developed into a hub of knowledge to all the academic community and a gateway to national and global knowledge. It ensures fair access to knowledge to the academics on the campus in particular and to each individual related to the university in general. The Library started functioning in July 2009. Within a short period it could attain a considerable level of development and is moving fast towards a fully automated library. Library is using Libsys7 Software for automation.
Mission :
In keeping with the vision and mission of the University, the library has been established “to promote knowledge generation and application through its effective dissemination”. The library, therefore, acts as the main learning resource Centre of the University and provides services and facilities to meet the requirements of the University’s teaching, training, and research programmers.
Objectives :
The library operates with the following objectives:
- • To support the learning process of the PhD/PG/UG students through provision of knowledge/information.
- • To meet knowledge/information needs of the faculty, to support their teaching activities.
- • To meet knowledge/information needs of the faculty and research staff to support their research activities.
- • To respond effectively, where possible, to the knowledge/information needs of the University’s client systems.

About World e-Book Library : The World Library Foundation is a global coordinated effort to preserve and disseminate digital facsimiles of historical books, classic works of literature, serials, bibliographies, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other heritage works in a number of languages and countries around the world. The collection consists of more than 4 million primary source eBooks & e-Documents spanning the past 1,000 years of world history. The Collection features works from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas in almost 300 different languages. In addition, the contemporary journal collections include scholarly journals and academic articles from every academic field.
