About Lecture Series

We are living in a highly contested time wherein countries and societies are confronted with severe existential challenges presented to them by ongoing climate change, over-reliant on unsustaining economic models, social and economic inequalities such as - racial discrimination, gender biases, rising gap between super-rich and ultra-poor, sham and retrogressive democracies, authoritarian leadership, and emergence of new diseases, are to name a few. A large human population is being subjected to, and is leaving under constant threat of War and terrorism fuel by territorial expansionist ideas, supremacist philosophies and religious bigotry. We also need to carefully analyze the socio-economic impact of emerging technologies, many of which have far reaching consequences. Throughout his life Gandhi stood against these people and ideas. One of the most loved and admired persons of his generation; nonetheless, he remained a divisive figure, at least, in his socio-political life and thoughts. Through this lecture series, we shall endeavor to have an idea about the Man, his philosophy and legacy. Who was Gandhi? – a champion of non-violence or a disruptor, a self-confident or a true democrat, a retrograde or a thoughtful observant of ideas, a racist or a true humanist. We invite you all in our quest to find the true connect between the MAHATMA & WE.
